PROLOUGE

Aadriti's Pov:-

I took a deep breathe as I was getting ready for my competition. I am a weightlifter and not a gymnasts which people would prefer a girl to become.

People always ask me why did I became a weightlifter?

My Papa took me to a weightlifting gym, when I was just 8 years old. Strangely I liked the metallic smell of the barbell and the feeling of holding the iron and steel rods.

That's when I decided to become a weightlifter. Aadriti Verma, from Youths Sport University and I am going to lift 90 kgs of weight which is my third attempt in the first year of my university.

I graduated my college 2 months ago and now I am in university to learn and lift more. After graduation, coming to a sports university is like doing post graduation in any sport.

I grew up with weightlifting. I lifted and threw the barbell thousands of times and got hurt too. I cut out calluses on my hands hundreds of times and prepared myself for the next day.

I completed my graduation in sports from a local college and got into this prestigious University to achieve my dreams and I will achieve it.

Sometime later, I am on stage smiling as my college coach Singh hugs me tightly

Why?

Because I won!!

Yes I won the first place in lifting weights.

I did it, one step closer to my dream.

"Kya hua bhaiya, kya vo Jeet gyi??" Darsh asked his older brother.

[What happened brother, did she win?]

"She won a gold medal! yes, vo Jeet gyi"Ā his older brother, Mahesh said and hugged his brother.

[Yes, she won]

"Darsh, she won a gold medal!"Ā he kept chanting as he saw his daughter getting a medal and bouquet of flowers.

"She's my daughter" he said to the people sitting there having their food and they clapped for her.

"She's my niece"Ā Darsh said to the customers and smiled seeing his daughter like niece on Tv.

Vihaan's Pov:-

I am playing game on my phone right now while other swimmers are getting ready for the match. But suddenly my character died in the game and I lost in the game. Ugh now I have to play this level again.

I heard my name called and I stood up, ready for my match. I entered the stadium along with other athletes. People cheered and mostly girls, why?

Ofcourse for us because we are half naked and our perfectly toned body is visible to their eyes, what an eye candy.

I am Vihaan Sharma, first year student from Youth Sports University. I took admissions here a few weeks ago and it's my first competition after joining the university.Ā

I have been disqualified many time in big competitions like this.

Why?

I jump in the water and start swimming even before the referee blows the whistle. But I hope I can do it this time. I heard the commenters say about other athletes and then they called out my name.

"In lane 4 it's Vihaan Agarwal, he has good records in his practice matches but he always gets disqualified in the actual important ones" a commentator said, praising and degrading me at the same time.

But he is right though!!

The count down begin and we took our positions. But suddenly the ringing in my ears started again, that beep sound which makes my head pound.

I need to get into water asap, only water can stop this ringing. Without thinking twice, I jumped into the water and swam few meters. Slowly I came back to my senses and saw everyone's faces, which made me shut my eyes tightly.

Shit!!!!! I FUCKING DID IT AGAIN!!!!

I started before the whistle blow. I heard the anchor say, "In the fourth lane Vihaan Agarwal again made a false start"

Does this mean I am disqualified again?

"He is disqualified" the judges said and I sighed, not again.

False start came back to haunt him again.

It's a shame.

Gosh.

I heard people murmur as I got off from the pool and went to change.Ā

After sometime, I was walking out when I heard someone calling my name. I turned around and saw that someone was National Sports Academy's assistant coach from swimming department with their new national athlete, Lalit Kumar.

"Mr. Agarwal, You know who I am, right? I am Lalit Kumar" he said, forwarding his hand and I accepted his formal gesture.

"I am his coach, can we talk?" His coach said, his voice filled with pride of being a national level athlete's coach.

"You are already talking" I said, my voice playful but gaze firm.

He hide his annoyance and said, "We have a favor to ask. Can you be Lalit's private training partner?"

A private training partner? Just because I am a good swimmer and my record is good, no way.

"Lalit doesn't like training in NSA. I think he needs some private training" his coach said and I sighed.

"It's more fun to train with someone with similar records" he said with a smirk. But I will also show this rich brat that he can't get everything just because he is rich and famous.

"It's my honor to practice with you. Well a nobody like me rarely gets to train with a world star like you"Ā I said and I can see he thinks he won over me.

"But... I have difficulty waking up early. We can't train in the morning and I have to take all weekends off. Also I would like us to train at my university which you don't like it at all" I continued, my voice playful but my gaze mocking.

His gaze changed and now he is more annoyed, haha.Ā "Can you meet my requests? You can't, right? I knew you couldn't so just buzz off" I said, but this time both my voice and my gaze were firm.

I left for my university dormitory leaving him behind, who was sizzling in anger. I am self centered, also cheeky and have a lot of self respect duh call me anything I don't fucking care.
